Features & Benefits of our Garden Rooms

At Garden Studio Rooms we aim to supply truly remarkable garden rooms. Our sustainable Swedish timber garden rooms are designed to beattractive, comfortable and user friendly buildings whilst being secure and robustly constructed. Take a look at some of the superb features of our garden rooms.

WeatherStop System
weatherstop systemTo give our garden rooms superior weather protection, we have developed the WeatherStop system. Here, we use hidden steel rods to hold the interlocking timber tightly in place, making the cabin walls completely watertight and impervious to wind and rain.
Interlocking Corners
A feature of traditional log cabins is interlocking corners. We use precision technology to make our interlocking corner joints highly secure, making our garden rooms structurally rigid and robust.

Sustainable Nordic Spruce
Sustainable Nordic SpruceWe’re proud that all the Nordic Spruce we use for our timber comes from sustainable managed forests where trees are replanted as they are felled. This helps reduce deforestation and combat greenhouse gas emissions.
As out timber is kiln dried its lighter to transport, again reducing carbon emissions. It also means the wood is much less susceptible to warping and shrinkage.

Attention to detail
recessed window & door latchesSometimes it’s the tiny attentions to detail which can make one garden room stand out from another. Take our gold finished recessed latches, for example; set flush with the timber, they give our frames sleek, clean lines that are pleasing to the eye.

Fully Pressure Treated
pressure treatedGarden Studio Rooms supply fully pressure treated, interlocking garden rooms – a preservative treatment which will extend the life of a garden building by many years.
Instead of just treating the surface of the wood, our pressure treatment forces preservatives deep into the timber, thoroughly protecting it from the weather damage, insect infestation and fungal decay.

Structurally Robust
roof beamsWe want our garden rooms to be as safe and structurally robust as possible and this is most important when constructing the roof. For all buildings with a span of over 4m we use extra-strong Glulam beams; laminated timer that is extremely sturdy and has up to twice the strength to weight ratio of steel. All our roof beams meet EN388 safety standards.

Pressure Treated Floor Bearers as Standard
pressure treated bearersAll our garden rooms come with pressure treated floor bearers as standard. Pressure treating means they are far more protected from moisture and insect infestation.
We’ve designed the bearers to be 70mm in height so that you can install adequate insulation underneath. The maximum distance between each bearer is 700 mm so that the floor isn’t over springy and can easily bear heavy weight.

Sturdy 19mm tongue and Groove
19mm tongue & grooveWe use sturdy 19mm tongue and groove timber for both the floor and roof boards. The 19mm thickness ensures the floor is able to withstand heavy use and that the roof will protect the building and insulate against heat loss. We use tongue and groove timber to create strong, secure joints that prevent drafts and leaks.
